I, telescopes, and the sky

Hi everybody. I've been in love with sky and telescopes since my childhood. I'm an astronomer by trade since 35 years but I continue to observe the sky with my own instrumentation whenever I can. In my amateur astronomer "career" I've been a variable star observer, both visual and photoelectric. Nowadays, I have no time to do routine observations, nor I am in any way interested in what I would define "artistic astrophotography". I still love being out with my scope doing visual observations of astronomical objects, yet I think that today's technology gives us the possibility of doing scientifically meaningful things with relative ease. That's what I'll try to share in this blog.
